How is a nativity figure developing?

The workflow using the example of a red king:

1. The lime wood we use is planed to suitable size

2. The outlines of the king are drawn on the wood with the aid of a stencil

3. The blank is cut out with a scroll saw

4. With precise cuts the king is carved out of the blank with a carving knife

5. The king is painted step by step with nontoxic oil colours

After a drying period of 3 days the king is ready to leave our workshop.
